About Me

headshot-1Hi Everyone,

I am Jessica Clayton the Fitterina Ballerina! I have been dancing since I was about 8 years old. I started this blog when I was still dancing in a professional ballet company about 3 years ago. I recently resigned from the professional ballet world and now have turned my energy to performing in musical theater, running my three businesses, and living an active healthy lifestyle!

My blog focuses on my life- running my businesses, performing, working out and the many adventures I take with my boyfriend.

Here’s a little about me:

I am the Founder and Owner of Dance Exploration, LLC an in-school dance program located in Denver, Colorado.

I have 25 years of dance education, training and performance credit to my name.

I began training at Youth Ballet Colorado under the tutelage of Amy Lynne Stoddard, Kristen St-John, Anne Burnidge, Katherine Clairboudt, and William Stern.

I left for a more rigorous program and training schedule and joined the Academy of Colorado Ballet. I received most of my instruction from Inessa and Meelis Pakri, Inge Saarsulu and Michele Dolighan.

At the Academy, I performed in Academy productions and Studio Company productions throughout my 4 year term.

In my professional performance career, I joined the company at Ballet Ariel under the Artistic leadership of Ilena Norton. I enjoyed 7 seasons performing numerous soloist roles. In 2014 I resigned from the Company to dedicate my time to growing Dance Exploration.

still love to perform and you can now catch me in musical theater productions with Performance Now Theatre Company, Vintage Theater, and Inspire Creative.

started Dance Exploration in 2008 with a goal to bring affordable and quality dance education to the children in Jefferson County. In less than 8 years time, we have reached children in schools located in Denver, Jeffco, Aurora, Douglas, Cherry Creek and Littleton Public Schools as well as numerous private schools locations.

In 2014 I began expanding Dance Exploration through the ‘Dance to Learn!’® Dance Ambassadorship option as a means to fulfill the company vision of bringing dance to every child in every school nationwide.

In 2015 I began Dancing Princess Parties– a traveling birthday party service sending dancing princesses and super heroes to children for birthday party entertainment.
